Earl Grenville Killeen

My work in watercolor over the past five years has evolved through seven series that seem to reflect my progression as an artist and a person.  "Praying Mantis 1" is from the first series, TOTEMICS; "In the Balance" from the third, THE PERSISTENCE OF PROMISE; "Mariupol" from the seventh, OUTSIDE THE LINES.  My imagery has moved from realistic "portraits" of heavily armored machinery and then of lighter gadgets and old bicycles, to more fanciful compositions featuring winged maple seeds, before I ventured into impressionistic depictions of myself in human form, and am now exploring more stylized as well as abstract modes of expression.
