Mariah Brown

My art is centered around the Black experience in totality and representing all that this encompasses. This includes sexuality, pain, body positivity, pleasure, queer experiences, spirituality, womanhood, love, differently abled experiences, and even sci-fi. I aim to create art that allows Black people of every experience and walk of life to see themselves represented. Whether this is a commissioned portrait painting, or a still of a day in the life of a black man, there is something for you here. As an artist, I believe that my works should speak for themselves. I like to include a quote or a brief sentence to allude to the feelings that I would like to stir up in the viewer. However, I believe every piece is to be received differently based on the viewer.
