Notes
Our minds, or at least my own, are wired to be rather unkind. My work explores the effects of depression, anxiety, and trauma on the human mind and body. I am fascinated with the way that people can find comfort within their own mental illness. In recent years, I have been focusing on my own mental health and looking for ways to heal. Creating imagery that expresses the way I feel on the inside has helped me immensely, and I only hope that this work helps others as well. Through my work, I aim to capture this sense of despair and hopelessness that I imagine others are able to relate to. Although, even through this pain, I still create objects that have a sense of beauty to them, despite their darker meanings. My main intention in this work is for the viewer to feel less alone. I have spent the majority of my life feeling isolated with my struggles, and I don’t want anyone else to ever feel the way that I have.
